We say: If you’d rather be a short walk to the conference venue rather than in the city centre this is your best bet. This hotel is owned and run by the University and the paper sessions/plenary hall/conference hub will be around 10 minute walk. For restaurants you can try out a Balti in nearby Selly Oak or you are short cab ride up to the popular gastro-pubs of Harbourne. University train station is a 15 minute walk or there is a local bus service.

We say: If you require a low-cost option this one might be for you –but expect no frills.  Rather than walking to the conference coach pick up points, we recommend you take the frequent buses that travel along Bristol Street.  Online bus timetables for 61X62 and 63 buses are available on the National Express West Midlands website  These will drop you at the University after about 10 minutes (see Campus Venue page for more details).  The main train station – Birmingham New Street – is a five minute walk.
